Did you know that one (1) out of every four (4) adults in the United States will be affected by a mental illness at some point in their lives? And that mental health problems affect one (1) in five (5)
children and adolescents?

My mom and mother-in-law both suffered with severe, untreated mental illness. It scarred both families as they were both incredibly toxic.
My four children all have mental health issues from relatively mild depression to bi-polar to schizoaffective disorder to severe depression with cutting and suicide attempts. Our world seems to revolve around mental health and trying to help our children and worrying what the affect will be on our grandchildren. We pray for new treatments. I frequently just feel overwhelmed with sadness for what "might have been," especially for our son.

Thank you for your comment. I am very sorry for all that you are going through. I think it is important that more people know about mental illness and how it affects everyone involved. Good Luck.
